Star Topology (स्टार टोपोलॉजी) :-

Star Topology एक प्रकार की Network Topology है जिसमें network के सभी computers, servers और अन्य network devices एक central device से जुड़े होते हैं। इस central device के रूप में सामान्यतः Switch या Hub का उपयोग किया जाता है।

Star Topology में कोई भी computer दूसरे computer से directly connected नहीं होता। जब कोई device data भेजता है, तो data पहले central device (Switch/Hub) तक जाता है और फिर central device उसे destination device तक forward करता है।

Star Topology is a type of Network Topology in which all computers, servers, and other network devices are connected to a central device. A Switch or Hub is generally used as the central device.

In Star Topology, one computer is not directly connected to another computer. When a device sends data, the data first goes to the central device (Switch/Hub), and then the central device forwards it to the destination device.

Star Topology का Structure :-

Star Topology में एक central device होता है और सभी computers तथा network devices इसी central device से connected होते हैं।

Star Topology के मुख्य Components :- 1. Central Device (Switch/Hub) -

Central Device Star Topology का मुख्य network device होता है। सभी computers और अन्य devices इसी Switch या Hub से connected होते हैं।

The Central Device is the main network device in Star Topology. All computers and other devices are connected to this Switch or Hub.

2. Nodes / Computers -

Network में connected प्रत्येक computer या device को Node कहा जा सकता है। सभी nodes central device से connected होते हैं।

Each computer or device connected to the network can be called a Node. All nodes are connected to the central device.

3. Network Cable -

Computers और central device के बीच connection बनाने के लिए Ethernet Cable जैसी network cables का उपयोग किया जा सकता है।

Network cables, such as Ethernet cables, can be used to connect computers to the central device.

4. Network Interface Card (NIC) -

प्रत्येक computer में NIC (Network Interface Card) या network interface होता है, जिसकी सहायता से computer network से connect होता है।

Each computer has a NIC (Network Interface Card) or network interface that allows the computer to connect to the network.

Advantages of Star Topology :-

• Easy to Install — स्थापित करना आसान
• Easy to Manage — manage करना आसान
• Easy to Troubleshoot — समस्या का पता लगाना आसान
• Failure of One Cable Does Not Affect Other Devices — एक cable खराब होने पर अन्य devices सामान्यतः प्रभावित नहीं होते
• Easy to Add New Devices — नए devices जोड़ना आसान

Disadvantages of Star Topology :-

• Central Device Failure Affects the Network — central device खराब होने पर पूरा network प्रभावित हो सकता है
• More Cable Required — अधिक cable की आवश्यकता
• Higher Cost — लागत अधिक हो सकती है
• Central Device is Essential — central device आवश्यक होता है
