MAN (Metropolitan Area Network) :-

MAN का पूरा नाम Metropolitan Area Network (मेट्रोपॉलिटन एरिया नेटवर्क) है। यह एक प्रकार का Computer Network है जिसका उपयोग किसी शहर या बड़े metropolitan area में स्थित computers, network devices तथा अलग-अलग LANs को आपस में connect करने के लिए किया जाता है।

MAN का coverage area LAN से बड़ा और WAN से छोटा होता है। इसका उपयोग सामान्यतः एक city, town या metropolitan area के अंदर स्थित अलग-अलग offices, schools, colleges, banks, government offices आदि के networks को आपस में connect करने के लिए किया जाता है।

उदाहरण के लिए, यदि किसी शहर में स्थित अलग-अलग bank branches के LANs को एक network के माध्यम से आपस में connect किया जाता है, तो यह MAN का उदाहरण हो सकता है।

The coverage area of a MAN is larger than LAN and smaller than WAN. It is generally used to connect networks of different offices, schools, colleges, banks, government offices, and other organizations within a city, town, or metropolitan area.

For example, if the LANs of different bank branches located in a city are connected through a network, it can be an example of MAN.

1. Fiber Optic Cable :-

MAN में Fiber Optic Cable का उपयोग अलग-अलग locations या LANs को high-speed network connection प्रदान करने के लिए किया जा सकता है।

Fiber Optic Cable can be used in MAN to provide high-speed network connections between different locations or LANs.

2. Microwave :-

Microwave communication का उपयोग दूर स्थित network locations के बीच wireless communication के लिए किया जा सकता है।

Microwave communication can be used for wireless communication between network locations that are located at a distance.

3. Wireless Network :-

MAN में wireless technologies का उपयोग भी अलग-अलग locations को connect करने के लिए किया जा सकता है।
