Cloud Computing :-

Examples: Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services (AWS)।

Advantages of Cloud Computing 1.

 Types of Cloud :-

Cloud Deployment

1. Public Cloud :-

Examples: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud।

2. Private Cloud :-

3. Hybrid Cloud

Exam Point: Hybrid Cloud = Public Cloud + Private Cloud

Cloud Computing Services

1. IaaS — Infrastructure as a Service

2. PaaS — Platform as a Service

3. SaaS — Software as a Service

1. IaaS — Infrastructure as a Service

Resources:

  • Virtual Servers

  • Storage

  • Networking

  • Computing Resources

Example: Amazon EC2।

Exam Point: IaaS = Infrastructure Resources

2. PaaS — Platform as a Service

Resources:

  • Development Tools

  • Runtime Environment

  • Application Hosting Platform

  • Supported Operating System Environment

Example: Google App Engine।

Exam Point: PaaS = Application Development Platform

3. SaaS — Software as a Service

Examples: Gmail, Google Docs, Microsoft 365।

Exam Point: SaaS = Ready-to-use Software

Trick

  • IaaS → Infrastructure

  • PaaS → Platform

  • SaaS → Software

Cloud Computing

Cloud Computing is a technology through which various computing services are provided over the Internet, such as Data Storage, Servers, Databases, Networking and Software.

With the help of Cloud Storage, files can be stored on Remote Servers and accessed through the Internet whenever required.

In Simple Words:

Cloud Computing = Using Computing Services through the Internet.

Examples: Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Advantages of Cloud Computing 1. Cost

Cloud Computing can reduce the cost of purchasing Hardware and Software and the cost of their maintenance.

2. Speed

Required Computing Resources can be made available in a short time.

3. Scalability

Computing Resources can be increased or decreased according to Business Requirements.

4. Security

Cloud Providers provide Security Policies, Technologies and Controls to protect Data Security. However, security responsibilities may depend on both the Cloud Provider and the User.

5. Reliability

Features such as Backup, Data Recovery and Redundancy help improve Data Availability and Business Continuity.

Types of Cloud

The main types of Cloud Deployment are:

1. Public Cloud

A Cloud Service in which Resources are provided by a Cloud Provider for use by multiple Customers.

Examples: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud.

Exam Point: Public Cloud Resources can be shared among multiple Customers.

2. Private Cloud

A Cloud Environment designed for the exclusive use of a single Organization.

Example: A Company's own Private Cloud Infrastructure.

Exam Point: Private Cloud is used by a single Organization.

3. Hybrid Cloud

It is a combination of Public Cloud and Private Cloud.

Example: A Company may keep its confidential data in a Private Cloud and use the Public Cloud for general Applications.

Exam Point: Hybrid Cloud = Public Cloud + Private Cloud

Cloud Computing Services

There are three major Cloud Computing Service Models:

  1. IaaS — Infrastructure as a Service

  2. PaaS — Platform as a Service

  3. SaaS — Software as a Service

1. IaaS — Infrastructure as a Service

In IaaS, Computing Infrastructure is provided through the Internet.

Main Resources:

  • Virtual Servers

  • Storage

  • Networking

  • Computing Resources

Example: Amazon EC2.

Exam Point: IaaS = Infrastructure Resources

2. PaaS — Platform as a Service

In PaaS, a Platform and necessary Tools are provided for Developing, Testing and Deploying Applications.

Main Resources:

  • Development Tools

  • Runtime Environment

  • Application Hosting Platform

  • Supported Operating System Environment

Example: Google App Engine.

Exam Point: PaaS = Application Development Platform

3. SaaS — Software as a Service

In SaaS, ready-to-use Software Applications are provided through the Internet. Generally, the User does not need to manage the complete Software Infrastructure on their own Computer.

Examples: Gmail, Google Docs, Microsoft 365.

Exam Point: SaaS = Ready-to-use Software

Easy Trick to Remember

  • IaaS → Infrastructure

  • PaaS → Platform

  • SaaS → Software
