Microsoft PowerPoint

MS PowerPoint is a presentation software used to create slideshows with text, images, charts, animations and multimedia.

Interface

  • Slide Panel (left): Thumbnail view of all slides
  • Editing Area (center): Main slide editing area
  • Ribbon: Home, Insert, Design, Transitions, Animations, Slide Show
  • Notes Panel (bottom): Speaker notes for each slide

Creating Slides

  • New Slide: Ctrl+M or Home → New Slide
  • Duplicate Slide: Right click → Duplicate
  • Delete Slide: Delete key on selected slide
  • Move Slide: Drag & drop in Slide Panel

Design Tab

  • Themes — built-in color & font themes
  • Variants — color variations of theme
  • Slide Size: Widescreen (16:9) or Standard (4:3)
  • Slide Background — solid, gradient, picture

Transitions & Animations

  • Transitions: Effects when moving between slides (Fade, Wipe, Push, Zoom)
  • Animations: Effects on objects within a slide (Appear, Fly In, Spin, Fade)
  • Entrance, Emphasis, Exit effects

Slide Show

  • F5 — Start from beginning
  • Shift+F5 — Start from current slide
  • Esc — End slideshow
  • Arrow keys — Navigate slides
